Unless otherwise noted, the course price does not include a copy of the current USPAP edition, which is required for course credit. When the chapter does not include, participants must bring their own copy of the USPAP edition to class. To purchase a print or electronic copy of the publication, please visit The Appraisal Foundation. You will be asked to clear the calculator’s memory before and after the examination. Only one calculator is permitted in the testing room. Examinees taking most AI exams may bring their own calculator to use during the exam. Laptops, cellular phones, tablets, iPads, wearable technology (smart watch, Apple Watch, Google Glass, etc.), and other devices that can store data or connect to the Internet are NOT permitted during the exam. In addition, all watches, wallets, bags, and purses must be removed and stored out of reach prior to taking the exam. This 15-hour update course, copyrighted by The Appraisal Foundation, focuses on USPAP requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance. New case studies and tools are provided to help participants learn how to better navigate USPAP in order to solve problems in their daily practice and a USPAP Reference Manual is included with the course handbook. In addition, the topic of bias will be covered using Advisory Opinion 16 showing how an real estate professional can comply with USPAP as it relates to fair housing laws. The course will aid participants in all areas of practice seeking competency in USPAP, including those subject to state licensing or certification and continuing education requirements imposed by professional organizations, client groups, or employers.

Class Registration: Aug. 22nd, 2022 at 8:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M.. (Lunch not included with seminar fee). 2 day course: Aug 22 & 23rd, 2023. Class Sessions: 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. (Lunch Time) 1.00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Lunch is not provided, but there are lots of restaurants within a block or two of this facility, such as: Culvers, The Beerhouse, Texas Roadhouse, B-Bops, Pizza Ranch, and 1908 Draught House. If you are planning on staying overnight at the host hotel (Fairfield Inn/Suites), please book your rooms either directly with the hotel or use Priceline or similar online booking vendor for additional discounts. Continue Education - Classroom Credit: Classroom: 14/15 (15 if testing) hours of continuing education credits have been APPROVED for: Iowa and Illinois appraisers: 14/15 hours of continuing education credits has been "applied for" to the Iowa Department of Revenue for Assessors.
Attendance: The Appraisal Institute enforces attendance requirements mandated by State licensing and certification regulatory agencies. The Iowa Chapter enforces the attendance requirements as mandated by the State of Iowa and the AQB. There is a 100% attendance policy. Don't be late or leave early.
