Course Design This course implements a blended learning approach which includes: Mandatory diagnostic test. Before
enrolling in this or any other MAI designation course, you must take an Excel
diagnostic to demonstrate your mastery of solving appraisal problems using
spreadsheets. The diagnostic is intentionally designed to be challenging and
ensure participants have adequate Excel skills before taking MAI designation
courses. The diagnostic test is free and can be taken at any time on your

A pre-class, on demand (self-paced) online session
component. The on demand component is available beginning 28 days before
the live online (synchronous) course begins. The online component
requires the completion of a pre-class assignment at least 2 days before
the live online (synchronous) course begins. 30 hours of live online (synchronous) education. Each
live online session runs for 4.0 hours each day with at least 2 breaks
during that time. The course runs for 8 half-days (Monday – Thursday) over
2 weeks. A 3-hour proctored exam at an offline testing center.
You will have 90 days from the time that you complete the course to take
the proctored exam. Testing center locations in your area can be found by

This course will be held via live interactive classroom technology.
State Credit:
A course may NOT be approved in every state for every
delivery format. For example, some states do NOT allow
any virtual education. When registering for any
Appraisal Institute course, all participants will be required to check state

- Online

- Diagnostic
test "Pass" grade deadline is 5 days before the synchronous
session begins: No later than September 29, 2022.
- Registration
deadline to receive a printed set of the course materials is 14 days
before the synchronous session begins: September 20, 2022.
- Registration
deadline to receive a digital/downloaded set of the course materials is 5
days before the synchronous session begins: September 29, 2022.
- FINAL
registration deadline is 5 days before the synchronous session begins: September 29, 2022.
- Online session ends 2 days before synchronous session begins: October 2, 2022.

exam is taken offline at a Pearson testing center.
Class Schedule:
Class begins each day at 10:00AM Central time (8:00AM Pacific, 9:00AM Mountain,
11:00AM Eastern). Each class runs for 4 hours each day with at least two breaks
during that time. The course runs for eight (8) half-days over two weeks
as follows. Times shown are U.S. Central (Chicago) time.

Online Session Pre-Class Assignment:
Students are required to complete the online session pre-class assignment at
least 2 days before the live online Synchronous course begins. The online
session is accessible to students beginning 28 days before the official start
date of the live online Synchronous course. Log onto your AI Account at www.appraisalinstitute.org with
the username and password you used when you registered. Click on “Education and
Events” located on the right navigation menu. On the My Events page, scroll
down to the “Online Courses” section and click on the “Begin” button to access
the pre-class assignment online session.
Download Course Materials:
Log onto your AI Account at www.appraisalinstitute.org with
the username and password you used when you registered. Click on “Education and
Events” located on the right navigation menu. On the My Events page, find the
Synchronous course under the “Classroom Offerings/Synchronous
Offerings/Conferences” heading and click the "View" button. Scroll
down to the “Download Course Materials” section and click on each link to
download the course materials.
Synchronous/AI National Virtual Classroom Participation Requirements:
• You must have a computer, webcam, and microphone capability to participate
and receive continuing or qualifying education credit where approved. It is
your responsibility to have the required equipment to participate and receive

• The instructor must be able to interact with all students. Instructors and
administrators will direct questions to each student in the morning and
afternoon to which students must respond. Students must be in a location that
allows for their full attention and interaction at all times.
• Attendance will be monitored throughout the day through webcams and polling.
You must turn on your webcam during roll call at the beginning of class so that
the instructor can verify your photo identification. (Students with licenses in North Carolina,
Connecticut, South Dakota, Maryland, or New York must keep their webcams on at all times.)

Connection Information:
Several minutes after you receive your Appraisal Institute receipt email, you

and 1 hour prior to synchronous session start time. If you do not receive the

Cancellation Policy:

of Professional Practice of the Appraisal Institute, and such peer review
proceeding may result in termination of my Appraisal Institute membership,

Synchronous Education Exception Please note that not all states have approved synchronous education, therefore, registrants MUST CHECK their individual states for approval BEFORE registering for the Program. Before registering for the Program, registrants understand and agree that continuing education credit for this program MAY NOT be available in their state on the date of the Program. The Appraisal Institute is not responsible if credit is not available for the Program in individual states. Please note: State exceptions for synchronous education may expire PRIOR to the offering date. State Credit Please note that 100% attendance is required in order to receive any approved state credit or to be awarded AI CE points.
