Course Materials and Hours
Onsite check-in will begin at 8:00a.m. on Thursday, April 23. “Live” course instruction will run from 8:30a.m. – 5:00p.m. on April 23 and from 8:30a.m. – 4:00p.m.on Friday, April 24 followed by the optional 1-hour multiple choice exam. Upon registration, participants will have immediate access to the downloadable course handbook unless the “print & send” material option was selected at initial registration. Note: Additional fees apply for shipping (shipping fee is determined at online checkout) and printed handbook ($15). Since Internet access cannot be guaranteed, it is highly recommended that you save these downloadable documents to a flash drive or to your hard drive prior to arriving onsite. Shipment of printed materials begins 4 weeks prior to the course start date and ONLY to those who requested a printed version at the time of initial registration.

Need a Cup o' Joe to get your morning rolling? Be sure to stop and grab your coffee before arriving on site. Registrants will be on their own for refreshments and lunch daily.

Required Equipment
A financial calculator is required. The accepted model used in the course is the HP-12C. Laptops are not required unless needed for viewing the downloadable course materials. Internet access cannot be guaranteed so pre-downloading is highly recommended. Those bringing laptops should bring their own extension cords / power strips as electrical may be limited. Students planning to take the optional exam should bring a No. 2 pencil.

Education Credit Hours and Attendance Verifications
Those who arrive late or leave early will jeopardize receipt of credit.

Appraisal Institute: Full attendance and successful completion of the course exam enables Designated Members and Practicing Affiliates to receive 200 points of AI continuing education credit; 150 points for full (100%) attendance only (no exam). Partial credit is not available.

BREA Continuing: Uniform Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions is approved for 14-hours (#17CP754601247) of BREA continuing education credit for licensed/certified appraisers seeking renewal credit. Full attendance (100%) is required. Successful completion of the exam is not required for BREA CEC.

BREA Qualifying Education: Uniform Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions is designed solely as a CE offering and is therefore not approved for BREA basic education credit.

SBE Training Credit: Those seeking SBE credit should check with their respective training supervisor(s) as this course offering has not been pre-submitted for SBE approval.

Effective 10/01/19 students will be able to access their attendance certificates 24/7 through the Appraisal Institute's netFORUM association management program. The Northern California Chapter does not have direct access to certificates for programs held after this time. Experiences

You will be asked to clear the calculator’s memory before and after the examination. Only one calculator is permitted in the testing room. Examinees taking most AI exams may bring their own calculator to use during the exam. Laptops, cellular phones, tablets, iPads, wearable technology (smart watch, Apple Watch, Google Glass, etc.), and other devices that can store data or connect to the Internet are NOT permitted during the exam. In addition, all watches, wallets, bags, and purses must be removed and stored out of reach prior to taking the exam.

Cancellations

Written cancellations received by Thursday, April 9, are subject to a $45 cancellation fee.  Cancellations received after that time but prior to noon on Thursday, April 16, are subject to a $65 cancellation fee.  No refunds for cancellations received after April 16 or for course "no shows".  All cancellations are subject to a non-refundable $25 material fee.  Cancellations can be emailed to lisa@norcal-ai.org.
