Advanced Spreadsheet Modeling for Valuation Applications

This two-day course will teach
appraisers to prepare advanced analyses in a simpler manner and with fewer
errors. It will appeal to participants with experience in fundamental and
inferred market analysis and highest and best use analysis. The focus is on
problem solving and efficiency while uncovering some of the tools of the
spreadsheet program that will strengthen an analysis and increase productivity.
Participants will find the applications especially helpful in the areas of market
analysis, feasibility analysis, and highest and best use. Gain techniques to
solve real-world problems and develop best practices in modeling that can be
applied in other situations.

Required and/or Recommended Equipment
- A laptop computer is required.

Microsoft® Excel 365 must be loaded and operational. If you do not have Excel, you may download a free trial at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try/. Please note that this links to the latest version of Excel. There may be minor differences between versions.

Solver Add-In and Analysis Tool Pak must be installed prior to class. Note. These add-ins may not work with the online version of Excel. As a result, it is highly recommended that you download a computer-based version of Excel.

Note to Apple Mac Users: The course will be taught in Windows using Excel 365. You will need the latest version of Excel in order to perform some of the exercises. Also, Microsoft does not support the Data Analysis Tool Pack in Mac Office Excel 2011. However, they do suggest free third-party add-ins with similar functionality. For more information, click here.

A regular-function or financial calculator is required for the exam.

You will be asked to clear the calculator’s memory before and after the examination. Only one calculator is permitted in the testing room. Examinees taking most AI exams may bring their own calculator to use during the exam. Laptops, cellular phones, tablets, iPads, wearable technology (smart watch, Apple Watch, Google Glass, etc.), and other devices that can store data or connect to the Internet are NOT permitted during the exam. In addition, all watches, wallets, bags, and purses must be removed and stored out of reach prior to taking the exam.
