Description This two-day course will teach appraisers to prepare advanced analyses in a simpler manner and with fewer errors. It will appeal to participants with experience in fundamental and inferred market analysis and highest and best use analysis. The focus is on problem solving and efficiency while uncovering some of the tools of the spreadsheet program that will strengthen an analysis and increase productivity. Participants will find the applications especially helpful in the areas of market analysis, feasibility analysis, and highest and best use. Gain techniques to solve real-world problems and develop best practices in modeling that can be applied in other situations.

Objectives
  • Recognize best practices and what to consider in developing a financial model.
  • Demonstrate how and when to use defined names in cells and ranges.
  • Identify key inputs in maximum building-size calculations.
  • Describe how to use key features of a spreadsheet program to make complex calculations easily.
  • Identify key inputs in land residual analysis.

  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, especially in Excel
  • Experience in inferred or fundamental market analysis as well as highest and best use analysis

You will be asked to clear the calculator’s memory before and after the examination. Only one calculator is permitted in the testing room. Examinees taking most AI exams may bring their own calculator to use during the exam. Laptops, cellular phones, tablets, iPads, wearable technology (smart watch, Apple Watch, Google Glass, etc.), and other devices that can store data or connect to the Internet are NOT permitted during the exam. In addition, all watches, wallets, bags, and purses must be removed and stored out of reach prior to taking the exam.
