Surfside: Lessons learned and what is to come
We will discuss the possible impact Surfside will have on future legislative changes in regard to reserve requirements and reserve studies. The catastrophe already overshadows the insurance industry with carriers canceling coverage for older high-rises or increasing the premium. The impact in the condo market will have to be evaluated, but buyers will scrutinize older buildings and will always prefer newer buildings.
