Overview

This seminar will explore the necessity of reserve studies in light of the Surfside aftermath. The Champlain Tower situation will be introduced, followed by an introduction into reserve studies for students who never did a reserve study before. The seminar will systematically explore reserve study users, FS 718, budget comparisons, funding models, component list, and will explain the two major analysis parts – physical inspection/analysis and financial analysis. An example of 100% funded calculation will be presented at the end of the seminar.

Learning Objectives:

  • How an appraiser can assist associations with reserve studies
  • Could the Surfside disaster be avoided?
  • How to conduct a proper inspection for a reserve study
  • How to develop a component list as basis for the reserve study
  • Introduction to funding models (pooled vs. component)
  • What does it mean to be 100% funded?

Enrollment Cancellation Fees (for virtual live classroom offering):

  • If cancelled prior to October 1, full refund will be granted
  • If cancelled between October 1 and October 9, a fee of $75 will be charged
  • If cancelled after October 9, 100% payment will be charged (no refund will be provided)

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

To receive AI and State credit, 100% attendance is required.

CONTINUING EDUCATION APPROVAL:

The Puerto Rico Real Estate Appraisers Board have approved 4 hours continuing education credit. 100% attendance is required for credit and will be verified throughout the day.  Note, it is the student's responsibility to verify his/her state(s)' approval (outside of GA and SC) of this live stream virtual offering.
