Seminar Overview:

This seminar provides a brief overview of the thought process and methods and techniques necessary to determine if property values may or may not be impacted by perceived (or real) Detrimental Conditions. Seminar includes in-class overviews of impact studies of proposed Cell Towers, zone change from Residential to Industrial; Contamination issues; “Spite Fence” issues, etc. Also discussed are several cautionary tales - What an appraiser should NOT do when asked to complete this type of assignment.


THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD VIA VIRTUAL INTERACTIVE CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY. STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A COMPUTER, WEBCAM AND MICROPHONE. IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THE REQUIRED EQUIPMENT TO PARTICIPATE AND RECEIVE CREDIT. Virtual Classroom Guidelines: Students must have a computer, webcam and microphone capability to participate and receive continuing education credit. If you have a Lenovo laptop, you must have the Lenovo Vantage App installed on your computer for the webcam to operate. The platform will be interactive and live. The instructor must be able to physically see and interact with all students and students must be able to see and interact with the instructor. A copy of your driver's license must be emailed to the Chapter office as verification after you have registered for the offering prior to the start date. You will receive a separate email from the chapter office with log-in access information. Please contact the chapter office if you have any questions regarding the participation guidelines at: upstatechapter@gmail.com ZOOM access link will be emailed to student prior to the offering in separate email from registration confirmation. You do not need a paid account from ZOOM to participate. If you are using your Ipad/Iphone/smartphone please download the ZOOM app prior to offering. Please check your webcam privacy settings on your computer.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Requests for cancellations must be received in writing at the chapter office. Confirmed students should not assume that cancellation has been granted until a confirmation has been received. Direct your email requests to: upstatechapter@gmail.com. There are NO transfers; you must cancel out of the offering.  

• Up To 15 days prior to program start date, $0.00 cancellation fee 

• 7 - 14 days prior to program start date, $15.00 cancellation fee 

• Less than 7 days prior to program start date, forfeit of payment.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT:


Three (3) hours of Continuing education credit for this program has been approved by the Appraisal Institute(15 AI points) and three (3) hours of CE with NYS.

This is a virtual class. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Class size is limited due to the virtual format. State CE Credit: This is a virtual class and is only approved for credit with the New York State Board of Real Estate Appraisers. For other states, you should determine current education approval and requirements.
