Additional Information

Seminar Description:  (2-Hours)  The purpose of this seminar/workshop is to discuss the differences as well as the similarities between Mass Appraisal & Single Property Appraisal.  There are a lot of misconceptions regarding what Mass Appraisers do and how they derive their estimates of value. In Florida there are 67 counties and each one has an elected Property Appraiser (Assessor). The property tax is the primary revenue source for local government so this is a very important job. Each office is also responsible with estimating the value of each property in their counties each year as of January 1st (real and tangible personal property). They also have to administer all of the applicable exemptions (Homestead, Widow/Widower, Disabilities, Senior, TPP, Classified Use, Institutional, etc.) and portability.  This seminar was developed by Michael Twitty, MAI and Kevin Hayes, MAI.
