The latest buzzword in the economic development community is
Opportunity Zones. So what is this that has generated so much interest and why
is it so popular? What are the appraisal issues involved and what should I
know? Come and find out the answers to these and many more questions.
The class will discuss what are Opportunity Zones
and where did they come from. What are the incentives to invest in these zones? Where are these zones
in Alabama and what are the benefits associated with them? What are the appraisal issues
involved in Opportunity Zones and how do they interact with the legal,
accounting and other issue? How is Alabama doing in regard to Opportunity
