About the Presenters:    

Ashley M. Bickel graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts in Writing Seminars and English and from Duke University, School of Law.  She is admitted to the Bar of the State of Maryland and the State of Delaware.  Ms. Bickel served as a judicial clerk for the Family Court of Sussex County for two years before going into private practice.  Ms. Bickel currently practices in the areas of family law (divorce, custody, child support, adoption, Protection from Abuse hearings, guardianships), and special education law (IEP hearings, school board proceedings).  Ms. Bickel currently also handles dependency/neglect cases in the Family Court of Sussex County.  She has been admitted to practice before all courts of the State of Delaware, the United States District for the District of Delaware, and all court of the State of Maryland.  Ms. Bickel belongs to the American Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, the Sussex County Bar Association and the Terry Carey American Inns of Court.

Stephen Huston, SRA, is a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser, licensed in both Delaware and Maryland. He also holds a real estate sales license, and is a graduate of East Carolina University.

William R. McCain, MAI, is the President/CEO of W. R. McCain & Associates, Inc., founded in 1988. He is a licensed real estate appraiser in MD, DE and VA, and a licensed broker in MD and VA.  Mr. McCain earned his Masters of Business Administration in 1987 from Salisbury University. 

J. Everett Moore, Jr. is a founding partner with Moore & Rutt, P.A. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware. He then attended Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William and Mary where he received his Juris Doctor degree. He has lived in Sussex County all his life. Mr. Moore started his practice in 1976 in Georgetown. He has practiced before the Court of Common Pleas, Superior Court, Court of Chancery, Family Court and Justice of the Peace Courts, but now normally confines his practice to transactional work.

In that practice Mr. Moore has represented clients in zoning cases in both Sussex and Kent Counties and many municipalities in Sussex County. He has also worked on water and sewer and other utility matters, including, but not limited to negotiations and preparations of service contracts and easements. He has also worked with and advised homeowners as to their rights and obligations concerning state and local environmental issues. He has represented such institutional clients as the State Police Federal Credit Union, Mid Atlantic Farm Credit, and First American Title Insurance Company, as well as clients of many varied backgrounds, including non-profits.  Mr. Moore and the firm have been named County Attorneys for Sussex County, Delaware. Mr. Moore is the lead attorney and attends all Council meetings and conducts public hearings, including zoning hearings and coordinates all legal work with his firm for the county.
