Seminar Description

The Chapter's annual economic seminar includes various members of the banking and appraisal and/or real estate related industries, i.e. economists. This year, the seminar will include a focus on the COVID-19 Pandemic and how it has affected all aspects of the economy, including the appraisal, real estate, and hospitality industries. Each speaker/panel member will have a topic to discuss and then there will be time for comments, questions, and answers.

Cancellation Policy

VIRTUAL OFFERING: With written requests postmarked 10 days or more prior to offering, funds will be granted less a $20 cancellation fee.  For written requests postmarked 6 to 9 days prior to event, refunds will be granted less a $30 cancellation fee. Cancellations 6 days or less prior to the course and “no shows” the day of the event will forfeit payment.

Virtual Classroom-Live/Interactive Participation Guidelines
Students must have computer, webcam & microphone capability to participate & receive continuing education credit. The platform will be interactive and live. The instructor must be able to physically see and interact with all students and students must be able see and interact with the instructor.

 

CE REQUIREMENT

A copy of a photo ID (driver's license; passport; ID with photo & name) MUST be emailed to the Chapter office as verification after you have registered for the offering prior to the offering start date, but no later than the start of class. Only your name and photo are needed.  Please feel free to redact any personal information outside of your photo and full name before sending.

 

Only those students who provide the photo identification and “attend” the program in its entirety will receive a certificate of completion. Attendance will be taken at various times throughout the day.

 

You will receive a separate email from the Chapter Office with log-in/access information. You do not need a paid account from ZOOM to participate. If you are using your iPad/iPhone/smartphone, please download the ZOOM app prior to offering.

 

Please check your webcam privacy settings on your computer. If you have a Lenovo laptop, you must have the Lenovo Vantage App installed on your computer for webcam

to work. 

 

Check state approvals before registering to make sure the states you are licensed have approved the course/seminar and allow Virtual education in place of classroom education during the pandemic.

Virtual Education is NOT approved in Illinois, Iowa, Montana, and Nebraska. You should contact your specific state to determine current education approval and requirements.

 

Attendance Policy

The Appraisal Institute, AQB, and OHLB require full attendance (100%) at the seminar.  If the attendance roster reflects less than 100%, it could/will show up on the roster submission to the states.

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Ohio Chapter reserves the right to cancel this Seminar if the minimum enrollment level is not reached.

The chapter recommends that students reserve their hotel room directly with the hotel where the Seminars are being held and not with a third-party reservation service. In the case of a cancellation, by booking directly with the recommended hotel you may typically cancel your hotel room within 24+ hours of the reservation with no cancellation fee. Students are responsible for their own hotel and airline fees in the event of a cancellation.

Attendance requirements mandated by the state of Ohio will be strictly enforced. Certificates will be issued to those in attendance for 100% of the Seminar hours or better. If you have a disability and may require some accommodation, please notify us in writing at least 2 weeks in advance and we will arrange for reasonable accommodation.

Program materials can be downloaded by the student or can be shipped directly to the student. If you choose to have the material shipped and do not receive your materials within 5 days before the offering start date, please call the sponsor to inform them.
