Oakland
University Professor Tim Hodge Phd, will be speaking on the impact
That his
generation is having on the local and national housing market. In
Particular, the
impact on traditional downtowns vs. the suburbs he grew up in and how this
impacts
appraisers
today.
The following information is why the tour is of paramount importance to appraisers in learing about the site and building information for furthering their professional careers in the valuation of historic properties, particularly as they are restored. About the Property subject to Inspection Tour the first step of any appraisal is problem identification. And a large portion of the indentifying the appraisal problem is identifying and understanding the description of the subjects property's physical characteristics.
This is NOT just a tour which would be liken to one given to
a laymen tourist. This is a program designed specifically to enhance the
understanding of historic and contemporary construction and design features.
This program is designed as a result of feedback provided by students wanting a
stronger grasp of “real life” construction examples.
